An European Route : the EuroVelo 4
The Tour de Manche is one of the three routes developed within the framework of the CYCLE WEST project supported by the European programme for transborder cooperation INTERREG IVA France (Channel) England.
From Roscoff to Carentan, the Tour de Manche follows the EuroVelo 4, one of the 15 cycle routes on the EuroVelo network linking European countries.
The section in the south west of England mirrors the route on the other side of the Channel, taking in unspoilt and very scenic countryside.
Connections between France and England are by ferry from the ports of Roscoff, St-Malo, Cherbourg, Plymouth, Weymouth and Poole: for more details, see the ferry section.
The EuroVelo 4 is marked for further development : in the future, it will be possible to embark on an epic cycle ride that takes you all the way to Kiev in Ukraine !
The Tour de Manche also crosses another European route: the EV1 at Roscoff (the Velodyssee). For more detailed information about this route visit the website velodyssey.com
